About Me

Welcome to my website and thank you for taking the time to explore. I made this wedsite after semi-impulsively buying my name domain and decided to take it on as a little side project. I’m hosting this site through GitHub (my first time using GitHub actually!) and I’d love to hear from other developers with any tips on optimizing content and/or making this site for accessible.

I’m living in Winooski, VT with my little house family, two dogs, and a cat. We’ve been at our current residence for several years now and love the Winooski community. For work, I am employed by both Evolution Physical Therapy & Yoga and Champlain College. For Evolution, I spearhead marketing and manage their social media, in addition to administrative duties related to the physical therapy side of the business. This fall I accepted a job with Champlain’s career collaborative. In the fall semester, I served as a Peer Financial Coach with the Champlain Career Collaborative. As a financial coach, I helped students develop financial literacy skills and facilitated events–virtually due to COVID restrictions. Currently, through May, I am now operating as a Peer Career Coach in a similar capacity. As a career coach, I work with students one-on-one to identify and search for jobs, find resources, prepare application materials, and complete required InSight Milestones. Though I love both my current employers, I am preparing to apply for post-graduation jobs and hope to start a full-time postion by Fall 2021.

A little bit more about my background…

I grew up in Maine, in a small coastal community, with one younger sister. My parents got divorced, quite messily, when I was in elementary school and we split our time between their houses. I started working as soon as I possibly could–completing a Red Cross babysitting certification course at 11 years old. Subsequently, I started babysitting and, eventually, becoming an after-school nanny in 8th grade. I volunteered extensively through middle and high school. I was never able to attend sleep-away camps, so I often filled up summer free time by volunteering with the local Parks and Recreation department and other community service organizations. When I could legally work, at 15 years old, I got a waitressing job at a local rehabilitation and retirement facility. During my time at that job, I began fainting with increasing frequency and was forced to switch back to nannying, since it didn’t require prolonged standing. I originally came to Vermont to attend the University of Vermont, where I majored in neuroscience. I really liked the neuroscience program but knew I wasn’t interested in medical school. Due to changes in my financial situation, I was able to get better financial aid at Champlain College so I made the decide to transfer. I am earning my B.S. in Integrated Studies with additional certificates realted to my areas of concetration: digital marketing, organizational development & HR, and project management.
